A design and build project for one of Eastern England’s leading automotive retailers which brings together both the Jaguar and Land Rover marques into one new showroom and aftersales facility, which reflected the newly introduced Jaguar Land Rover ARCH concept.

The project represented a major expansion of Duckworth’s existing Land Rover franchise in Boston with the addition of the Jaguar brand. Located on a 4.25-acre greenfield site on the edge of this Lincolnshire Market Town the 50,000 square foot facility provides a showroom for 19 cars, state of the art service bays for 13 vehicles along with external retail space for up to 80 new and used cars.

In keeping with the recently introduced Jaguar Land Rover “ARCH” brand concept, the building utilises high quality materials and design features to create a dramatic architectural statement which reflects JLR’s desire for transparency, flexibility and modularity in its new generation of showrooms and service centres.

Features:

High quality materials were used throughout, with key elements being the distinctive warm grey metallic rain screen cladding and planar curtain walling incorporating specialist extra clear glazing.

Both showroom and technical service areas were tiled to an exacting standard and high quality panelling and finishes were employed in the showroom and visitor areas in line with the Jaguar Land Rover specification.

Environmental considerations were fundamental to the new design, so in addition to the use of natural ventilation and lighting where ever possible, energy efficient lighting (LED and florescent) were also used. Roof mounted photo voltaic panels were also incorporated enabling up to 200kw of electricity to be generated to support the new facility.
