Clugston in Top Track 250
The Clugston Group has been included in the Top Track 250 - a league table which ranks the UK’s leading private mid-market growth companies published by The Sunday Times on 12 October.
The Grant Thornton Top Track 250 complements the Top Track 100, which features Britain’s biggest private companies and was published in June. It ranks the next 250-biggest companies whose sales or profits have increased by at least 10% year-on-year and who have made a strong contribution to their local economy. It features other well-known brands such as Aston Martin, Barbour, Dr Martens, Jeyes, Nando’s, Pret A Manger, Warburtons, and Yeo Valley.
2013 saw Clugston reveal a second successive “best ever” return, with a 26% jump in turnover to £231m, as pre-tax profits rose five percent from £6m to £6.3m.

“It was a nice surprise. It is not something you apply for, we just got a call informing us we were being considered and asking us to confirm the figures. It is the first time we have been in this and it comes as it celebrates a decade of Top Track 250. It would be nice to stay in it for the next decade!
This is great because it is recognition for everyone in the company who have worked so hard in the last few years in a particularly challenging time in the industry. We have been fortunate to have local recognition in a period of recession, so it is nice to get this on a national level.”
